In order to innovate, one must question existing solutions and test new ways to solve problems. Innovation is crucial to developing and progressing as a society - especially in the areas of science and technology.

First and foremost, our team at H1 is made up of scientists, dedicated to achieving our goal of helping the scientific community make smarter decisions.  In order to achieve this goal, H1 is committed to providing the most cutting-edge technology and up-to-date data, to empower decision making and drive innovation within the scientific community.  We live and breath this data and are passionate about solving the toughest problems facing the scientific community. How do we approach these problems at H1? Well, it’s all in the name.

H1 is scientific shorthand for “alternate hypothesis” or the hypothesis tested in contrast to the null hypothesis. The null hypothesis, or H0, is the assumption that claims the commonly accepted “fact” or “norm” experienced in the world. Researchers working within the scientific method, and relying on both null and alternative hypotheses, work to reject, nullify or disprove the null hypothesis.  Researchers formulate the alternate hypothesis as a new explanation for the phenomenon they are researching. In short, H1, is the new explanation, being tested against an old explanation.

This alternative hypothesis is the assertion that there is a meaningful connection to be investigated - we believe this investigation leads to innovation, which moves the scientific community forward. At H1, we embody this thirst to investigate, learn, and ultimately innovate.  We are the alternate hypothesis to the old way of doing things, constantly improving against ourselves and against others, always looking for better solutions to our toughest problems.
